Makes 8
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 8 hot dogs, of your choice
- wooden skewers
Directions:
- Dry hotdogs with paper towel, set aside
- Combine cornmeal, 1 3/4 cup flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a medium bowl
- Whisk in egg and milk until well combined (consistency should be like pancake mix)
- Transfer batter into a tall glass or mug
- Skewer each hot dog and dip in batter. Twirl it around to coat well
- Deep dry until golden brown
- Drain on paper towel
