Beef and Broccoli

Makes ~ 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • about 1 lb thinly sliced beef
  • 1 head broccoli
  • 4 cloves garlic; minced
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Marinade:

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • ¼ tsp white pepper

Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch 
  • ½ cup water

Directions:

1. Marinate thinly sliced beef with all marinade ingredients for about 15-20 mins

2. While beef is marinating, mix all sauce ingredients together, set aside. 

3. In pan or wok, cook beef until almost fully cooked, remove from heat and set aside

4. Clean pan and return to stove. Heat up 1 tbsp of vegetable oil, cook garlic until aromatic

5. Add in water and broccoli and let broccoli cook for a few minutes, or until bright green in color

6. Pour sauce in with broccoli. Stir constantly until a thick sauce forms

      

7. When sauce is thick, return beef to pan and toss until well mixed
